GETTING INVOLVED

Get involved!? ME?!?!
Go on, give it a try - it's not half as scary as you might think! And the thing is you don't have to get up on stage if it's not your idea of fun.

We have a number of people who, each year, come and join us, do all sorts of things backstage and do a bit of a 'walk-on' to help swell the numbers of the 'spear carriers'. The atmosphere, though we do say it ourselves, is always brilliant.

So whether your talent is knocking in nails, running a neat stitch along a hem, organising people and props, putting things together (and taking them down again!) or just plain pitching-in where a pair of hands is needed, please, GET IN TOUCH - there's an e-mail address at the bottom of this page.

ACTING
Gil Garland as Solanio.
The 2005 production,
'The Merchant of Venice'.
Wishing for a nice pair of slip-ons!
As we've already said, our actors come from all over South Devon, but we're always on the look out for new blood - and this year is no exception.

The 2008 production for The Dartmouth ShakespeareWeek,  'The Tempest'employed the services of actors from Stoke Fleming Operatic & Dramatic Society ( the SODS!), one of whom came along to support his wife and do a bit of walking-on.
He ended up playing Alonso, King of Naples.  Not bad for a walk-on!

We always hold auditions for the Shakespeare production; it gives everybody a fair crack of the whip. But as we begin our expansion, we're going to need even more enthusiastic thesp's to get involved.
In the not-too-distant future, we envisage taking some of the One Act Plays 'on the road', perhaps doing some of the village halls or other theatre's in the area

It really is an incredibly exciting time for The Inn Theatre Company, and we would love you to get involved.
We start rehearsing for productions at The Guildhall, in Dartmouth, but transfer to Dartmouth Castle towards the end of May (same eveings).  Come along and introduce yourself -
when we're at these locations - but for now, just drop us a line
from the link below. We'll let you know when we're auditioning so you can come and meet us.
Malcolm MacIntosh - founding father, director,
artistic director of the Company, diplomat and all round good egg! He steered the original production, Twelfth Night, as well as Taming of the Shrew, Merchant of Venice and A
Midsummer Night's Dream.  Hurrah!
